tsunami-terrible!



Causes A tsunami can be generated by any disturbance that displaces a large mass of water, such as an earthquake, landslide or meteor impact.
Tsunamis can be generated when the sea floor abruptly deforms and vertically displaces the overlying water.
Tectonic earthquakes are a particular kind of earthquake that are associated with the earth's crust deformation; when these earthquakes occur beneath the sea, the water above the deformed area is displaced from its equilibrium position. Waves are formed as the displaced water mass moves under the influence of gravity to regain its equilibrium. When large areas of the sea floor elevate or subside, a tsunami can be created. Large vertical movements of the earth's crust can occur at plate boundaries. Plates interact along these boundaries called "faults". Around the margins of the Pacific Ocean, for example, denser oceanic plates slip under continental plates in a process known as subduction. Subduction earthquakes are particularly effective in generating tsunamis.
Submarine landslides, which often accompany large earthquakes, as well as collapses of volcanic edifices, can also disturb the overlying water column as sediment and rock slump downslope and are redistributed across the sea floor. Similarly, a violent submarine volcanic eruption can uplift a water column and generate a tsunami.
Large landslides and cosmic-body impacts can disturb the water from above, as momentum from falling debris is transferred to the water into which the debris falls. Generally speaking, tsunamis generated from these mechanisms, unlike the Pacific-wide tsunamis caused by some earthquakes, dissipate quickly and rarely affect coastlines distant from the source area. However if the landslide or cosmic body is large enough, it will create a megatsunami. A megatsunami is a tsunami, usually caused by a collapsing island, asteroid impact, or huge chunks of ice falling into a large body of water, and is hundreds of meters high.

Many causes of pollution including sewage and fertilizers contain nutrients such as nitrates and phosphates. In excess levels, nutrients over stimulate the growth of aquatic plants and algae.
In turn, proves very harmful to aquatic organisms as it affects the respiration ability or fish and other invertebrates that reside in water. Pollution is also caused when silt and other suspended solids, such as soil, washoff plowed fields, construction and logging sites, urban areas, and eroded river banks when it rains. Under natural conditions, lakes, rivers, and other water bodies undergo Eutrophication, an aging process that slowly fills in the water body with sediment and organic matter. When these sediments enter various bodies of water, fish respirationbecomes impaired, plant productivity and water depth become reduced, and aquatic organisms and their environments become suffocated.
Pollution in the form of organic material enters waterways in many different forms as sewage, as leaves and grass clippings, or as runoff from livestock feedlots and pastures. When natural bacteria and protozoan in the water break down this organic material, they begin to use up the oxygen dissolved in the water. Many types of fish and bottom-dwelling animals cannot survive when levels of dissolved oxygen drop below two to five parts per million. When this occurs, it kills aquatic organisms in large numbers which leads to disruptions in the food chain.

Noise Pollution or Sound Pollution, exposure of people or animals to levels of sound that are annoying, stressful, or damaging to the ears. Although loud and frightening sounds are part of nature, only in recent centuries has much of the world become urban, industrial, and chronically noisy.


Most noise pollution comes from machines, especially automobiles, trucks, and aircraft. Construction equipment, farm machines, and the din of machinery inside factories can be dangerously loud. Some home appliances, shop tools, lawnmowers, and leaf blowers can also be noisy, as are guns, firecrackers, and some toys. Even music, when played at very high volume, particularly through personal headphones, is as damaging to the ears as a roaring chain saw.

Hearing loss can also occur in the workplace, where individuals may be unable to avoid loud sounds and where exposure may continue for years. Factory workers, construction workers, farmers, military personnel, police officers, firefighters, and musicians all have reason to be concerned about their occupational exposure to noise.

Air Pollution
Have you ever heard someone say they are going outside "to get a breath of fresh air"? Have you ever tried to imagine what life would be like if the air were so dirty that people couldn't "get a breath of fresh air"?
How does air become dirty?
Your car produces emissions that go into the air. The factories that made materials for your car produce more emissions. All over the world, millions of cars and millions of factories emit soot, ashes and chemicals into the air. Still more of these substances come from garbage that is burned and chemicals that are sprayed.
The result is air pollution.
Sometimes you can smell pollution and sometimes, when the air looks hazy or smokey, you can see it. But sometimes it's invisible.
Invisible or not, air pollution can cause a lot of damage. Even a little air pollution can make your eyes burn and your head ache. It can tire you out, blur your vision, make you dizzy, and make it hard for you to breathe. Air pollutants can also affect asthma and make it easier for you to catch a cold or the flu. Air pollutants have also been linked to some cases of serious disease such as lung cancer and heart ailments.
In fact, some scientists believe that air pollution costs Americans billions of dollars a year in doctor bills and unearned paychecks due to pollution-related illness.
People are not the only ones hurt by air pollution. Plants surrounded by polluted air may not grow. Fish and animals may die. Statues and building materials may be discolored or corroded (eaten away).




my school kids


I teach the year 5 students. I found that those kids very naive but a little bit lazy.I hoped that can help them.I will try my best to help them.I think that if they hardworking a little bit, I think they will improve very fast.
But, They're very active and helpful although they are lazy.
